life in a dust-bowl

That's my little green girl in the middle...I'm cornered by DUST, huge, violent sweeping gobs of it. This is what desertification looks like and the driving force behind national and international migration...folks can not survive on this ravaged land, poisoned by decades of commercial style agriculture and pesticide use, over grazing and deforestation. This is also why we promote our Environmental Education Project!!! Our aim is to support a generation of local young people become computer AS WELL AS biologically literate. This is the only hope for poor countries and rich ones alike. Here at chez Sarita, water comes on during the evenings only. The government just announced a new electricity 'rationing' schedule today which meant that we were without power for about 8 hours...this is expected to continue throughout the hot summer months.
