The Miraflor Nature Reserve in Esteli, Nicaragua was our destination for our 2008 Tree Promoters recognition trip. We brought over 50 kids to the mountains of Esteli to learn about the union of agricultural cooperatives and their model for sustainable environmental management and ecotourism. Here's a shot of some of my girls enjoying the 250+ year old 'Matapalo' tree.
