My first major task upon arriving to Nagarote was to organize this year´s Tree Project field trip where we acknowledge the good work of our environment promoters in our Project.
I brought a bus of our kids to the Isla Ometepe...the place I fell in love with back when I was here traveling in August. We were received by members of the coop at the Finca Magdalena who were thrilled to be hosting a group of nationals. They get a lot of solidarity travelers, mostly international, so it was special for them to impart the learnings of their experience with Nica kids. The coop talked about the importance of environmental education and protection and shared their story of organizing during the war.
