US Social Forum-Atlanta, Georgia-June07
In June I went down to Atlanta with some folks from work...driving more or less non-stop from the city. The drive was gorgeous for the most part, stopping to check out local eateries and to buy fireworks along the way. Atlanta was sweltering but the energy of the massive group that assembled fed my adrenaline. It was a beautiful convergence of people from everywhere and every background. At times, we felt like a unified force. I was able to catch up with some activist friends that live in disparate parts of the country. While at the Forum, I participated in the People’s Health Movement course on building a movement for health care for all, with a human rights based approach at its foundation.
